San Diego Employment Law Attorneys
A negative employment matter can be devastating - to your family, your finances, and your health. California has some of the strongest worker protections in the country, and we know how to enforce them.
The federal and California statutes that govern the workplace - FEHA, Title VII, the ADA, the Labor Code, and dozens of Wage Orders - are technical and unforgiving of missed deadlines. Talk to a lawyer early. Certain administrative steps must be taken before you can sue, and the clock starts running the moment the harm occurs.
We handle employment matters on a contingency basis where appropriate - you pay nothing unless we recover on your behalf.

Wrongful Termination
California is an at-will state, but 'at-will' does not mean 'for any reason.' An employer cannot fire you for a protected reason - reporting illegal activity, requesting reasonable accommodation, taking protected leave, filing a workers' comp claim, or because of your race, gender, age, disability, or other protected characteristic.
Discrimination
Both federal and California law prohibit an employer from making decisions about hiring, firing, pay, or promotion based on a protected characteristic. The California Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA) reaches more employers and provides broader protections than federal law.
Sexual Harassment
Sexual harassment includes unwanted sexual advances, requests for sexual favors as a condition of employment, and any conduct - verbal, visual, or physical - of a sexual nature that creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive work environment.
Wage & Hour Violations
California's Labor Code gives workers rights that far exceed the federal Fair Labor Standards Act - daily overtime after eight hours, mandatory meal and rest breaks with premium pay for missed breaks, and reimbursement of business expenses under Labor Code § 2802.
