Nicholas J. Lewis, Esq.
Attorney Nicholas J. Lewis has built his 20-year legal career on a simple but demanding standard: that representing a client well means more than winning in the courtroom. From the earliest days of his practice, Mr. Lewis has prided himself on the relationships he builds with the people he represents, taking the time to listen carefully to their concerns and to walk them through each phase of the litigation process as it unfolds. For Mr. Lewis, effective advocacy starts outside the courtroom, in the trust and clarity he establishes with his clients long before a case ever reaches trial.
That same resolve was evident from the outset of his career. As a young attorney facing off against large, well-resourced law firms and seasoned opposing counsel, Mr. Lewis never hesitated to hold his ground. Within his first three years of practice, he had already tried multiple jury trials and arbitrations against some of the top insurance-defense firms in California, a track record that speaks to both his trial readiness and his willingness to take on difficult, high-stakes matters early in his career.
Over the course of two decades, Mr. Lewis has represented clients across a broad range of practice areas, including personal injury, business litigation, employment litigation, and real estate litigation, along with drafting numerous contractual agreements for individuals and businesses alike. This breadth of experience has given him a well-rounded perspective on how legal disputes intersect with the practical, day-to-day realities of running a business or managing a livelihood.
Before founding his own practice, Mr. Lewis's path into litigation began with a clerkship at the San Francisco City Attorney's Office, where he gained early exposure to civil litigation from the government's side of the table. After earning his Juris Doctorate, he went on to work as a Civil Litigation Associate at a long-standing San Diego law firm, an experience that broadened his exposure to multiple areas of civil practice. Not long after, he made the decision to open his own firm, a move that reflects not only his confidence as a litigator but also his instincts as a small business owner and entrepreneur in his own right.
Academically, Mr. Lewis double-majored in International Studies and Philosophy, with an emphasis on Public Policy, during his undergraduate studies, a combination that speaks to a broad, analytical foundation well suited to complex litigation. He went on to earn his Juris Doctorate from the University of San Diego School of Law. He is admitted to practice before all California state courts, as well as the United States District Courts for the Southern and Central Districts of California.
For the past decade, Mr. Lewis's practice has increasingly centered on guiding businesses through every stage of their lifecycle, from startup formation through mergers and beyond. This work spans the full range of issues business owners face: employment matters, contractual dealings, and the disputes that inevitably arise as companies grow. That dual foundation, as both a seasoned trial litigator and a trusted advisor to businesses navigating growth and transition, has become a defining feature of his practice today.
